PBI Australia is a volunteer-based organisation. There are volunteer opportunities in Melbourne and around the country.

NEW POSITION:

Membership Officer, voluntary

PBI Australia is seeking the services of an committed and dedicated Memberships Officer. This new position provides an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent community development and communication skills, a familiarity with community based organisations and an interest in human rights.

Commencement: immediately
Hours: approximately 4 hours per week

Scope of Position:

Hours: approximately 2-4 hours per week

Scope of Position: Working closely with staff and volunteers, the Membership Officer will maintain and grow PBI Australia’s members and supporters, coordinating membership drives and maintaining communication with our members and supporters. The Membership Officer will also assist the organisation in the planning and development of our membership structure and policies.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in community based organisations.

  • Good email and telephone communication skills.

  • Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

  • Ability to work in a consensus-based and small team setting

  • Knowledge of PBI’s work, human rights, humanitarian or related fields desirable.

Work within PBI Australia requires high-levels of self-motivation and working within a voluntary group context. PBI Australia is non-hierarchical and decentralised organisation, decisions being made by a consensus process at the regular General Meetings or within delegated Working Groups. All roles entail an expectation of a 12-month commitment.
