PBI Australia is a volunteer-based organisation. There are volunteer opportunities in Melbourne and around the country.

Work within PBI Australia requires high-levels of self-motivation and working within a voluntary group context. PBI Australia is non-hierarchical and decentralised organisation, decisions being made by a consensus process at the regular General Meetings or within delegated Working Groups. All roles entail an expectation of a 12-month commitment.

 
CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

PBI Colombia Project Liasion Officer, voluntary

Commencement: Immediately
Hours: variable, as required

Scope of Position:  The Colombia PLO will maintain communication with the PBI Colombia project, updating the PBI Australia team on developments within the Colombia PLO. This includes urgent action alerts, fundraising and collaboration opportunities.

Skills & Experience

  • Good email and telephone communication skills
  • Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a consensus-based and small team setting.
  • Knowledge of PBI’s work, human rights, humanitarian or related fields is desirable.
  • Applicants must be fluent in Spanish

 
Promotions & Outreach Officer, voluntary


Commencement:
immediately
Hours: approximately 2-4 hours per week

Scope of Position:
  The promotions volunteer will work closely with staff and volunteers to help with promotion of PBI’s work and events, as well as general outreach. Tasks will include development and updating of email networks and seeking opportunities to increase PBI’s profile through attendance at events, stalls and other collaborative work with other organisations. Required to attend an evening meeting once per month.

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and/or experience in administration and outreach.
  • Good email and internet research skills
  • Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of PBI’s work, human rights, humanitarian or related fields is desirable.
